Port Hope Public Library is pleased to announce the resumption of in-branch library service beginning September 8 at the Mary J. Benson Branch at 31 Queen Street in Port Hope. Library Takeout Service will also continue for patrons who wish to use our curbside pick-up option. The Hub Community Branch location in Canton will reopen at a later date. We thank you for your continued patience.
The hours of service will be as follows:
Monday/Tuesday hours from 1 - 4 pm. Evening hours from 5 - 8 pm.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 10 am - 1 pm, 2 - 5 pm.
Saturday: from 10 am - 1 pm.
Library Takeout Service continues Monday to Friday from 10 am – 4 pm. Request your materials on-line through your library account at www.porthopepubliclibrary.ca or by phone at 905 885 4712.
What you can expect in branch:
Masks or face coverings are required, as is physical distancing.
Limited number of people at any one time.
Visit times will be limited to 45 minutes only.
Computers will be available to be booked with your library card for one 45 minute session allowed per day per patron.
Local history room is available by appointment only.
Extra cleaning and sanitation protocols.
On-line programming will continue. In person programming is not available
The program room will be unavailable.
For safety, please return all materials to the outside drop box before either takeout service or in-branch service. All returning materials are quarantined for 72 hours before being placed back into circulation.
