CCC is in winter-activity mode

Just in time for hockey season, Councillor Emily Chorley gave a snapshot of operations at the Cobourg Community Centre at this week's council meeting.

Entry procedures to the facility for players under the age of 12 have been changed at the request of local hockey leagues and have been communicated to these groups. As for spectators, they will go through screening procedures and must sign in.

Also at the centre, Chorley said, the seniors' centre has 35 new members taking advantage of 19 drop-in and three registration-only programs.

“Pickleball is at 100% capacity,” she added.

“Staff have added two more time slots, which makes seven times a week.

“Adult skating has been added to the schedule, and that takes place Monday and Wednesday afternoons – preregistration required.”

Preregistration is also required to use the walking track, she continued, which is open weekdays.

“Throughout November, it was at 90% capacity,” Chorley noted.
