Cobourg council has approved reduced transit hours to protect drivers and riders.
The new hours will take effect on April 18. Monday through Friday route one will operate from 7:15 a.m. until 5:45 p.m., on Saturday 8:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. and there will be no service on Sunday.
Public transit remains free of charge with rear door entry only. All riders must maintain a 2- metre distance from others, including the driver, and the eight passenger per bus limit remains in effect.
Anyone who can’t use conventional transit can still book an appointment for the door-to-door WHEELS transit. It will run Monday to Friday 6:45 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. with no service on Sunday.
