The Northumberland Hills Hospital Board of Directors has announced that it is currently recruiting individuals interested in working with the skills-based, volunteer Board as Community Members.

Community Members hold full voting privileges on the NHH Board Committees they serve and may be appointed to a Board Director position when a vacancy occurs.

The role of the Board is to provide strategic direction and oversight to the Hospital management team.

As such, the Board of Directors is looking for people who have knowledge of hospitals and the health care system in Ontario and are committed to being team players and taking on leadership roles with the Board.

Candidates must be a resident or employee from one of the municipalities served by the hospital, namely the Town of Cobourg, the Municipality of Port Hope or the Townships of Hamilton, Cramahe and Alnwick/Haldimand.

The minimum time commitment required of Community Member volunteers is estimated at 5-8 hours a month of active committee participation with further time required for background reading.
