Cobourg man facing assault charge

A 19-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges in a knife-wielding incident.

Police allege that late Sunday evening,officers responded to the area of Trevor Street and Trailsview Avenue after a report that a man holding a large kitchen knife approached a vehicle and slammed it off the car window, causing damage.

The unidentified person is charged with assault and weapons offences. He was released from custody and will appear in court next month.
