Organizers of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation's first Catch The Ace lottery announce that the ace has been caught.
Thirty-six weeks into its Catch The Ace lottery, Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation that the ace has been caught.
Debbie Devitt of Cobourg claims the honours, as well as a progressive-jackpot prize of $15,812.
This fundraising initiative had several fun ingredients, including a jackpot that swelled over the weeks, and the chance for each weekly winner to draw a single card from the deck in hopes of catching the ace of spades.
Devitt characterized this as “a real 'pinch-me' moment.
“I don't normally buy lottery tickets, but I had seen this on social media and thought it was a great opportunity to support our local hospital.”
“With this being NHH Foundation's first-ever Catch the Ace Lottery, we weren't sure what to expect, but we are pleased with the result,” Community Engagement and Events Specialist Megan Fluxgold said in the announcement.
“Thank you to everyone who played along, helping us to raise critical dollars for Northumberland Hills Hospital.”
Plans for the next Catch the Ace lottery will be announced in the spring.
