The deadline to nominate someone for this year's Cobourg Civic Awards has been extended by a week to Feb. 28
This annual award recognizes residents who have helped benefit the community through outstanding volunteerism and community involvement – residents like Northumberland 89.7's own Zara Caletti, who has her own Thursday-afternoon sports show and won a Distinguished Award in Athletics last year.
Residents are encouraged to nominate a deserving individual for recognition in either of two levels of award.
Major awards are for those who have volunteered for five years or more and have varied volunteer experience in the community.
Distinguished awards recognize those who have volunteered for a minimum of one year in the community.
Recipients will be honoured at the Victoria Hall Concert Hall during Volunteer Week with an April 29 ceremony at 7 p.m.
Nomination forms and category information can be found at www,Cobourg,ca/Civic-Awards. Review the criteria and submit all required information and documentation on the online nomination form by Friday, Feb. 28.
The committed is thankful for the generous support of local sponsors including Frank Bouwmans Cabinetry, Lakefront Utilities, Star-Metroland, RBC Wealth Management, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 133, Lions Club of Cobourg, Rotary Club of Cobourg and their new sponsor Northumberland 89.7 FM.
