G2 driver faces charges after crash on Danforth Road

A G2 licensed driver is facing charges after police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Friday night.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle collision on Danforth Road.

Police allege an 18-year-old was driving when they lost control and struck a tree. The vehicle sustained major damage. The driver blew an ‘alert’ on the Approved Screening Device. The driver and passenger sustained minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the driver received a three-day licence suspension and was charged with Careless Driving, Driver – Fail to Properly Wear Seatbelt, Driver Fail to Surrender Licence, Novice Driver – Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero, and Young Driver – Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero.
