Federal Libs announce candidate for Northumberland-Clarke riding
John Goheen will carry the federal Liberal banner into the next election.
Goheen was recently nominated for the Northumberland-Clarke riding, following a recent meeting at the Cobourg Lions Centre.
"It is both my privilege and honour to represent the new riding of Northumberland-Clarke as its first Liberal candidate," said Goheen in a press release. "We need an M.P. who is willing to listen to concerns and act on them. M.P’s should be about actually caring. It's about doing everything you can to get dollars and programs to your riding to create sustainable and lasting opportunities. We are up against a party that isn’t about Canada. It is about absolute power at all costs."
Goheen, a career educator including being a principal states he will advocate for rural communities as he has ties to farming.
“Northumberland Clarke is a large and diverse riding and John brings the special quality of having lived and worked in all corners of the riding. He understands the different challenges facing families in each of our communities. Combining this with his personal leadership qualities of openness, approachability, focus, commitment and drive will make John an outstanding MP for the people of Northumberland Clarke,” explained Sandy Wiseman, Chair of the Federal Liberal Association of Northumberland Clarke.
The next federal election is scheduled for or before October 2025.
