Northumberland County
Icy weather may have caused some residents to miss out on having their compostables, recyclables or waste picked up Monday, but the county has announced how this will be addressed
Among the services disrupted by Monday's icy weather was curbside waste collection to certain areas of Northumberland County.
The county has issued assurances to anyone that the collection vehicles were unable to reach – primarily those in the townships of Alnwick-Haldimand, Cramahe and Hamilton as well as the municipalities of Trent Hills and Brighton – that they can place their recyclables, compostables and waste out as usual on their next regularly scheduled collection day. And for affected residents only, curbside waste collection will be increased to four bags of waste per household on that day.
Anyone with questions regarding the removal of waste and recyclables can call the county's Waste Hotline at 1-866-8379 or e-mail
