Cobourg schools in Lockdown Monday over suspected gunshot

Schools in Cobourg’s east end were temporarily placed in lockdown Monday afternoon, on suspicion of a gunshot sound.

Officers responded shortly before 1PM, clearing the surrounding area and school.

It was determined that a construction site in the King Street and Cottesmore Avenue area was using air-compressed tools.

Police assure the public there is no safety risk.
