COBOURG
With mail service no longer available, the Town of Cobourg is advising the community on new ways to conduct such business as paying fines and keeping up to date on public meetings
The Town of Cobourg has issued a press release detailing how certain town business will be conducted in the wake of a strike by Canada Post.
Public-meeting notices – These cannot be mailed. Residents within 120 metres of a proposed development will receive hand-delivered notices of upcoming statutory public meetings with 20 days' notice of the set meting date. Property owners within this defined area who reside outside the town will have their notices couriered.
Building permit payments and planning application payments – These will have to be made at the Building and Planning Department (on the second floor at Victoria Hall) or via a mail courier service.
Vendor payments and invoices - Vendors waiting for payment can sign up for electronic-funds transfer (e-mail accountspayable@cobourg.ca to request an EFT form), and vendors waiting for an invoice can e-mail accountspayable@cobourg.ca. The Finance Department is holding a few vendor payments, which can be picked up at Victoria Hall during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). You can call the Finance Department with any questions at 905-372-8944.
