COBOURG
Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. is when Santa Claus comes to town – in Cobourg, at the annual Santa Claus Parade.
Experience Cobourg also invites you to the Pre-Parade Fun Zone downtown for winter inflatables, hot chocolate and some special guests, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The route goes east along King Street from the library to D'Arcy Street. Attendees are reminded to dress warmly and wear reflective clothing. At the beginning of the parade, elves from Canada Post will collect children's letters for Santa and volunteers from Fare Share food bank will collect non-perishable items for the food bank, with cash donations also accepted.
Road closures to accommodate the event will include Ontario Street between Albert and King Street West between 4 and 8 p.m. Also, King Street between William and Cottesmore Avenue will be closed from 3:30 to 8 p.m., with vehicles parked on King Street towed after 3:30 p.m.
This year's theme is Santa's North Pole, and participant registrations are being accepted through Nov. 28 at www.Cobourg.ca/SantaClausParade.
