Northumberland Palestinian Solidarity group rallies to continue in Cobourg

A group of local residents from the Northumberland Palestinian Solidarity group will continue to rally every Saturday in front of Cobourg’s Victoria Hall for the foreseeable future, says organizer Alex Cahill.

The next rally is set for this Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon. Cahill told Northumberland 89.7 said four previous rallies have already been held with at least 20 regular supporters and as many as 50 showing up.

Cahill the group wants to show support for local Palestinian families, adding one family has attended each rally so far. Listen to the interview with Cahill as he shares why he thought it was important to organize the rallies.

Cahill said the the rallies will continue every Saturday for the foreseeable future.

This is an example, Cahill said, of how even big world issues are felt locally.
