Cougars return from holiday break with win; Monday's game to be played at CCC Pond
Three unanswered goals in the third period paced the Cobourg Cougars to a 5-2 win over the St. Michael’s Buzzers in Ontario Junior A Hockey League action Friday night in Toronto.
The Cougars held one-goal leads in both of the first two periods before pulling away in the third.
Lucas Stanojevic scored twice in the final frame while Logan Kelly and Jordan Fuller assisted on both as well as Chris Brydges’ first-period tally. Fuller had four assists in the contest as he also notched a helper on Carson Durnin’s power-play marker in the third.
Trevor Hoskin scored for Cobourg in the second period with his team-leading 26th goal of the season.
Monday night’s Cougars home game against the Lindsay Muskies will be played on the Pond ice at the Cobourg Community Centre. The scoreboard is being replaced in the CCC’s Bowl arena and that venue is expected to be ready to go for the Jan. 15 home game against the Trenton Golden Hawks.
The seating capacity in the Pond is just over 500. Tickets will be available at the door, but can also be purchased in advance online through the Cougars website.
Game time Monday is 7 p.m.
