Monday waste pick-up is iffy *UPDATED*

By Cecilia Nasmith

Northumberland County advises that waste and recycling pickup has been cancelled for January 17

Northumberland County is alerting residents who might otherwise have their waste and recycling collected Monday that this service may well experience some disruption due to the weather.

“While all efforts will be made to minimize disruptions to the collection schedule, some residents may experience a delay in removal,” the press release said.

“In the event that collection does not occur by 6 p.m., please remove your waste and recyclables from the curbside and place them out again on your next regularly scheduled collection day. If garbage is not collected as scheduled, the maximum set-out limit for collection will be doubled the following week.”

Residents with questions regarding the removal of waste and recyclables are invited to email wastedept@northumberlandcounty.ca or call the County’s Waste Hotline during regular business hours at 1-866-293-8379.
