Date set for Cobourg police officer

Hearing date details have been released for a Cobourg police officer who has been charged with two counts of discreditable conduct under the Police Services Act.

Cobourg police say the charges follow an incident that took place while the officer was on secondment at the Ontario Police College (OPC) in Aylmer, Ontario in June 2021.

“The member was released from their contract at OPC, and CPS requested that the Toronto Police Service investigate the allegations.” reads a release issued by Cobourg police on Monday (Dec. 12).

As a result of the investigation, Constable David Periard has been charged with the following:

• Two counts of discreditable conduct

Constable Periard is scheduled to appear at an electronic virtual hearing on Dec. 16, 2021 at 10a.m
