Hello Cobourg! has just been launched, an initiative of the Town of Cobourg's Communication Department designed to engage citizens in a new way while fostering open government and improved communications.
Deputy Mayor Suzanne Seguin said the town is very excited about the new monthly on-line publication.

The 2019 Corporate Communications survey identified the need for a newsletter, with 98% of the citizens voting in favour of such a project. The e-mailed newsletter format received the highest level of interest in ways to receive Town of Cobourg information.
“Aligning with one of council's priorities for this term, my hope for this newsletter is that it will help foster open government, spark dialogue and strengthen communications between council, town staff and the citizens we serve,” Communications Manager Ashley Purdy said.
“In the spirit of community engagement, I'd encourage you to subscribe to the monthly newsletter to stay well-informed on matters within your town.”
The monthly newsletter will offer subscribers an overview of town business and topics of interest coming before council. It will include news, upcoming meetings, job opportunities, events, construction notices, statutory notices, major project updates, an Ask The Staff social-media feature, council editorials and more.
The inaugural edition includes highlights from the Valentine's Day wedding promotion at Victoria Hall, top council stories and meeting highlights, an update on the Affordable and Rental Housing Community Improvement Plan and the 2020 budget, an interview-style staff feature, updates, tips and news of interest to citizens.

The newsletter will be archived digitally on the municipal website, with a limited number of hard copies available at Victoria Hall (55 King St. W.) and the Cobourg Community Centre (750 D'Arcy St.).
