Port Hope Council to Support Skeena Iceland 75th Memorial Trip

by Brian Coggins

Port Hope Council authorized a $500 donation to support the 116 Skeena Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps 75th Memorial Trip to Iceland October 24-25, 2019. The trip is to honour the men of the HMCS Skeena which was sunk off of Iceland during the Second World War.

In addition, the 35 cadets have been appointed as Junior Ambassadors of Port Hope for the duration of their trip. Port Hope will also donate a plaque to be placed at the Vimy Island Museum HMCS Skeena wall.
