The Town of Grafton felt great relief after finding out that Saint Mary’s worn steeple and bell won’t have to come down after all.
An engineer and a contractor reviewed the project, and determined that the costs for restoration were only slightly more than tearing down the steeple.
The church is considered a local landmark.
The repairs are in process, and are expected to continue into 2019.
