Judging by the crowd that came out, Sprucewood Handmade Cookie Company’s grand opening on Saturday was a huge success. Lots of free samples, balloons, and music created a festive atmosphere on the pretty patio.
Typical Northumberland generosity was also in evidence. All net proceeds from the $5 quesadilla and salad lunch will be donated to the Northumberland Humane Society.
Owner Mark Pollard called it a “Huge success”.
Just as they were cleaning-up to close, two bus tours with 160 passengers who had never been to Cobourg stopped in. They did lots of shopping and stayed until 8:00 p.m.
Boasting “Canada’s Best Shortbread”, the Sprucewood Handmade Cookie Company is located on Ontario Street in Cobourg.
