Cobourg Heritage - We Have An App For That

Walk Heritage Poster (002).png

Starting yesterday, visitors and residents of Cobourg can explore the Town’s fascinating 180-year heritage through Walk Cobourg Heritage, a new self-guided, cellphone-based walking tour.

Created by the Town of Cobourg’s Heritage Department and the Town’s GIS Coordinator, Walk Cobourg Heritage tells the stories that shaped the Town over its 180 years at 54 heritage sites through an immersive, self-guided tour.

Several months were spent selecting the photos and researching facts about Cobourg’s heritage sites and drafting information on the conservation districts into a series of cohesive stories that reflect the Town’s historical development.

Walk Cobourg Heritage, with sites spread over about four to six square blocks in the heritage districts, allows visitors and residents to tour the town at their own pace, visiting as many or as few sites as their schedules allow.

The tours include a mix of residential, institutional, commercial and public buildings and properties.

Users can access the app from the Town’s website or scan the QR Code on the poster in front of Victoria Hall.
