Two Tornadoes Hit Ontario Last Friday

Two tornadoes were reported in Ontario on Friday.

Late Friday afternoon, a thunderstorm reached Leamington near 5.40 p.m.  Photographs support the confirmation of an EF-0 tornado with maximum winds of 130 km/h.

Meanwhile, an Environment Canada damage assessment team has confirmed that an EF-2 tornado with maximum winds of 180 km/h occurred near Hawkesville around 7:30 p.m.  Numerous farm buildings were damaged. 

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported from either tornado.
