Councillor Ward 4: Leslie Mahoney

I am proud to be running to represent Trent Hills as the next Councillor for Ward 4. Stepping forward to serve Warkworth has been a deeply meaningful choice for me.
Warkworth is where I live.
It is a unique place that deserves thoughtful, and dedicated representation.
A strong community doesn't happen accidentally; it happens when people are willing to get involved.
Growth is important—but how we grow matters.
I believe in purposeful rezoning for new housing that makes use of appropriate areas while protecting our valuable farmland, waterways and historic buildings. We need to build for the future by upgrading infrastructure and planning ahead so that growth remains steady and easily managed, even as we look beyond the next election cycle.
Open communication isn’t just a campaign promise - it’s how good decisions are made.
Most importantly, I want to help create spaces where people can come together, share ideas and have a voice in the decisions that affect them. I will listen, ask questions, and make sure residents know what is happening and why. Part of that means creating dedicated Senior and Youth Advisory Panels, giving all generations a direct opportunity to share their perspectives, raise concerns and have a meaningful voice in council decisions.
Supporting families, healthcare, and local businesses.
A strong community is one where everyone has a place. Supporting families, healthcare, and local businesses means building a community where people can live, work, raise their families, and stay connected. Supporting the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Redevelopment Plan is an important part of that vision, helping to attract doctors and healthcare professionals while expanding access to the healthcare services that our growing community needs.
Over the coming weeks, I hope to be able to meet with anyone who would like to discuss their concerns, or the priorities they would like to see addressed by Trent Hills Council.
