Full Brook Road North closure planned

Northumberland County is advising that continuing work on Brook Road North in Cobourg (County Road 20) will include a full closure between Elgin and King streets from Sept. 13 through 18 so that Canadian National Railway and complete upgrades at that rail crossing.

The road is currently open to traffic with alternating lane restrictions. During the closure, detours will be in place for passenger vehicles (on D'Arcy Street) and trucks (on Workman Road). Motorists are asked to follow posted detour signage and allow extra travel time when travelling through the area.

Notifications have already been made to emergency services as well as transit and school transportation.

Local access will be maintained where possible, with access restrictions and traffic-control measures in place. Residents and businesses in the immediate area are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly and follow the directions of traffic-control personnel.
