Level Up! Comes to Cobourg Wednesday and Thursday

The Level Up! Skilled Trades Career Fair is making a Cobourg stop Sept. 23 and 24.

This is part of a 12-city fall tour, aimed at engaging students, parents and job seekers with hands-on experiences and career connections to explore opportunities in Ontario's 140-plus recognized skilled trades.

The stop will take place at the Columbus Community Centre (232 Spencer St. E.), and will include a public open house Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 3 to 7:30 p.m. to welcome students, families, job seekers and other community members.

Now in its fifth year, Level Up! has welcomed more than 140,000 attendees in its various stops around the province, offering a dynamic platform to learn about hands-on high-demand skilled trades that play a crucial role in Ontario's economic growth and future work force.

“Whether you're a student exploring career possibilities, a parent learning more about apprenticeship or an adult considering a career change, Level Up! offers an engaging introduction to one of Ontario's most important and rewarding sectors,” Skilled Trades Ontario Chief Executive Officer Candice White said in the announcement.

“Now more than ever, we need to give young people the opportunity to see where a career in the skilled trades can take them,” Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development Trevor Jones added.

“Level Up! is giving students the confidence to pursue rewarding careers, build a future for themselves and help build Ontario for generations to come.”
