John Street will close temporarily

By Cecilia Nasmith

The Town of Cobourg's Public Works and Engineering Division would like to inform residents of scheduled sanitary sewer replacement work on John Street between James Street East and University Avenue East.

Beginning the week of April 13, this work is expected to take eight weeks to complete (depending on the weather).

Throughout construction, the road will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic. But except for short-duration interruptions, local access to properties will be maintained for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The contractor and project engineer will communicate any temporary access restrictions in advance, where possible.

Waste collection and deliveries (including mail) will be maintained, and will not be disrupted by construction activities.

Impacted residents have received a Construction Notice with further details. If you have any questions, contact Public Works at 905-372-9971.
