GPL move delayed

Following the most recent review from the Ministry of Long-Term Care (a virtual tour), Northumberland County announces that work is underway at the new Golden Plough Lodge to address all final operational readiness requirements.

“Project teams are actively addressing items that came forward through the Ministry review to ensure all regulatory requirements and standards are met prior to the next step in the approvals process – the in-person Ministry inspection,” the announcement said.

Taking into account the multiple partners require to complete the work in anticipation of the inspection – Ministry officials, contractors, county staff and relocation specialists – the previous targeted move-in date of May 3 will be adjusted.

Meanwhile, the county is working closely with all partner to complete remaining requirements and confirm an updated transition timeline. An official move-in date will be shared as soon as it is confirmed, following the Ministry inspection in the near future.

“We look forward to welcoming residents home and staff to their new workplace as this next phase is completed,” the announcement said.
