OPP seeks help in Brighton theft investigation

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is requesting the public's assistance in identifying a person involved in a theft investigation.

On July 21, at approximately 6:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft at a commercial premises on Telephone Road in the Municipality of Brighton.

The complainant reported that a person stole a jewelry ring valued at over $9,000 before fleeing the scene. The item was subject to an online marketplace sale and the individual was not located by police.

Investigators are releasing an image of the individual and are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information regarding the identity of this person is asked to contact the Northumberland OPP Detachment in Brighton.
