A Cobourg recreational vehicle enthusiast has launched a petition, seeking support from residents to remove existing and proposed zoning restrictions on the parking of RV’s and watercraft on private residential properties. Maria Papaioannoy says there is already a local bylaw prohibiting RV parking on public roads and that the proposed six-metre length limit is unworkable given the average length of an RV is more than 30 feet. She adds it is not possible for a resident to change a zoning variance and that the municipality’s position is punitive. Papaiaonnoy is set to go before Cobourg Council Wednesday with her proposed solutions.
