Cobourg

The Town of Cobourg will begin taking 2025 bookings for the Marina Feb. 10, Director of Community Service Brian Geerts reported at Wednesday's meeting of council's Community Services, Protection and Economic Development Standing Committee.

If this proves as popular as the Victoria Park campground bookings that opened Monday, they'll go fast. Reporting on that, Geerts said, they had $242,000 worth of bookings, “representing 85% of the revenue we expect for the season.

“Within a day most of the bookings were taken.”

Geerts also thanked the community volunteers and organizers who worked at the Cobourg Community Centre to get the Bowl back in shape for hockey after last months provincial curling finals. Within a few weeks, he said, there will be a final report on the event detailing impact and economic spinoffs.

Committee Chair Adam Bureau thanked the crew who see to the zamboni each morning at the Rotary Harbourfront Park rink. No matter how cold it is, he said, they always make sure there's fresh ice

“And believe it or not, there are always people waiting.”
