A Scarborough man is facing charges in an alleged hit and run with a fire truck in Hamilton Township Monday.

Northumberland County OPP allege that just after 8 P.M., a tractor trailer collided with a fire truck on Highway 401 eastbound, sending a firefighter to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The fire truck was pulled over to assist in an unrelated incident, where a vehicle was in the ditch.

Police claim the driver of the tractor trailer failed to remain at the scene.

OPP say the driver phoned them Tuesday morning to report the incident. It alleged the vehicle sustained damage.

The unnamed driver will appear in court at a later date.
