Appropriately for a community whose demographics skew on the older side, the next Northumberland PACE Speakers Series is kicking off a new season with a virtual conversation on Independent Living As We Age.
Guest speaker Micki McLean will be the presenter at the session, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 23.
In addition to having 20 years of practical experience working in the retirement industry. McLean hold a Long-Term Care/Retirement Facility Administrator Certification. During the session, she will share real-life stories and insights from her career, offering an opportunity for attendees to discover the challenges and realities of finding the right living arrangement – and to learn hoe to recognize when it's the right time to make the transition.
As is standard with the PACE format, questions from the audience are welcome. For this session, questions can be pre-submitted by e-mailing mbhargava@imcare.ca prior to Oct. 23 (or, time permitting, posed live during the event).
Each PACE session consists of a 30-minute talk, a 20-minute question-and-answer period with the guest speaker and a short moderator summary.
The Northumberland PACE series (the acronym sound for Personalized Assessment and Change Education) was established in 2018 by Dr. Mukesh Bhargava as a way of addressing those questions he most often received from his patients. These free public-education sessions have tackled a broad range of health and wellness topics, and have consistently drawn large groups of community members with a variety of questions and perspectives.
Bring your questions, your suggestions and your experience and join what is expected to be another informative discussion.
Pre-registration is required, and space is limited to the first 300 registered attendees. The event is hosted through Zoom, and attendees are asked to log in to the event five minutes prior to the start.
Register at www.pacetalks.com, where you will find recordings from many of the previous seasons' talks.
