Cobourg's First Night may have been postponed because of the weather, but a new family-friendly edition of the Mayor and Council's New Year's Levee is a go for Saturday, Jan. 4
Mayor Lucas Cleveland commended Deputy Mayor Nicole Beatty on her ideas to make the annual tradition more family-friendly, and the invitation is out to community members of all ages to be at the Victoria Hall Concert Hall Jan. 4 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Music includes the Concert Band of Cobourg's jazz group The Bootnecks, with a special performance by the young warblers of SONG (Sounds of the Next Generation). There will be family-friendly activities and festive refreshments (including cotton candy and popcorn).
And the traditional proclamation by Cobourg Town Crier Mandy Robinson will welcome in the New Year.
And there's still time to enjoy the Christmas Magic light displays in their two locations – Victoria Park lights until Sunday, Jan. 5, and the ones in Rotary Harbourfront Park until Family Day, Feb. 17.

And stay tuned for the town to announce another First Night date, when temperatures have stabilized and the outdoor skating rink can be made operational.
