If you notice filming going on at Monday's Remembrance ceremony at the cenotaph in Cobourg's Victoria Park, you can see the finished results next year on Bell Fibe TV1.

This is all in connection with a series called Legion of Honour. The filming focuses on the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 133 and involves Cobourg journalist Graham Beer.

Eelay Media Associate Producer Deb Hulme said that they have permission to film part of the service.

Graham will be following the parade form the Legion. We will have our own camera set up at the cenotaph to film part of the service. Prior to the ceremony, we will be interviewing local residents on what Remembrance Day means to them, what the Legion means to them.”

Hulce described the project as “stories of past and present Legion members and benefits that the Legion brings to the community.

“Most people don't know about that,” she added, listing projects the Cobourg branch has supported.

“They are the second-largest supporter of youth sports in Cobourg. They raised $52,000 from their various lotteries, and all that goes back into the community for service dogs, veterans with PTSD, new hospital equipment and to every single seniors' residence in the area for their activities.”
