Capacity of manufacturing support program grows
By Cecilia Nasmith
The Northumberland Manufacturing Association announces that the Advanced Manufacturing Relief Program launched in December has added the Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation to the list of partners supporting and funding the initiative.
As previously announced, NMA had partnered with the Kawartha Manufacturers Association as well as the Northumberland CFDC and Community Futures Peterborough to launch this program in support of small and medium-sized manufacturers addressing business challenges that have resulted from COVID-19 pressures.
With Kawartha Lakes CFDC joining, total program funding has increased to $160,000, with the program administered by the NMA in collaboration with the KMA through the CFDCs local Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (with the support of FedDev Ontario).
“We are excited to have Kawartha Lakes CFDC join the Advanced Manufacturing Relief Program as a partner, which gives us the ability to expand our funds further and provide more local manufacturers with the support and relief they need during this crucial time,” NMA president Fred Kosseim commented in the announcement.
Northumberland CFDC executive director Wendy Curtis added words of welcome to the Kawartha CFDC.
“CFDCs, working strategically together, is always more efficient and impactful in delivering positive results for our communities,” Curtis stated.
This new program is open to manufacturers located within Northumberland County, Peterborough County and Kawartha Lakes at no cost to the manufacturer.
