With businesses reopening and people beginning to return to work, demand for Cobourg Transit is expected to grow.
With that in mind, Cobourg council this week approved a staff report suggesting that service reductions be walked back. As a result, staff will reinstate Route 2 to match current Route 1 operating hours. As well, free transit is extended through Aug. 31.
The proposed new schedule, for both Routes 1 and 2, will consist of weekday hours of 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., as well as Saturday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Hours for Wheels accessible service will remain the same – 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays.
Changes are expected to take effect July 13.
