Tread carefully at Cobourg marina

By Cecilia Nasmith

The Town of Cobourg Community Services Division warns of potential blockages on public walkways and docks in the marina area, as work commences on electrical upgrade work that is expected to conclude by July 3.

The project was included in the town's 2020 budget in a bid to address power outages that have occurred in recent years due to high Lake Ontario waters. The contract was awarded at last week's council meeting to Lakeland Multi-trade (Cobourg), whose bid came in under budget.

The contractor will have a construction trailer on-site, and will be abiding by all public-health guidelines in respect to physical distances and safety protocols in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
