Male Charged With Stolen Credit Card Offences

On January 25, 2020, officers of the Cobourg Police Service received a report that a wallet had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle sometime overnight. A credit card from the wallet was used to make several purchases at various locations in the Town of Cobourg.

As the result of an ongoing police investigation: 37-year-old Ryan CONROY, of Cobourg was charged with:

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Section 355(b) of the Criminal Code (x 3)

• Fraud Under $5000 Section 380(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (x 3)

• Possess Stolen Credit Card Section 342(1)(c) of the Criminal Code

• Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card Section 342(3) of the Criminal Code x 2

• Fail to Comply with Appearance Notice to Attend for Fingerprints

Conroy was released on an Undertaking with an impending court date.

Cobourg Police remind the public not to leave valuables in their vehicles. If you are leaving valuables in your vehicle, put them in a position out of sight, such as the trunk or under a seat. Keep your vehicles locked at all times, even when there is nothing valuable inside.
