Big Beat Live keeps things Truly Local

By Cecilia Nasmith

A great line-up of truly local talent is reporting for duty at the third annual Big Beat Live concert in Port Hope Sept. 13.

And your ticket purchase can help keep things truly local on the airwaves too, as this is the big annual fundariser for the all-volunteer Northumberland 89.7 FM station that bills itself Truly Local Radio.

The line-up consists of six great acts who will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Cameco Capitol Arts Centre, some of whom also host their own shows on the 89.7 line-up. Look for some rockin' good music by the Ganaraska Chordsmen, the Colborne Library Ukulele Band, Greatest of Ease, the Cedarail band, Coup De Ville and the Offbeats.

It's an enjoyable evening for your friends, families, neighbours and co-workers, and it helps keep Truly Local Radio on the air.

The theatre is located at 20 Queen St. in Port Hope, and doors open at 6:30 p.m. The $28 ticket price includes all fees and taxes – available at the Capitol Theatre box office, or the Northumberland 89.7 website at https://northumberland897.ca/.

Looking ahead, don't forget to tune in to support the station's big Radiothon Fundraiser Oct. 23 to 26.
