Community Care launches updated Trent Hills Transit schedule

By Cecilia Nasmith

Community Care Northumberland, in partnership with the Municipality of Trent Hills, has launched its updated transit schedule in response to community feedback.

One key adjustment is adding a pick-up in Warkworth at the library in addition to Warkworth place. This makes two Warkworth pick-up points, with three daily pick-ups.

Serving Warkworth, Hastings and Campbellford, the Trent Hills Transit service is open to registered Community Care Northumberland clients. As the service continues, the Community Care press release said, the schedule will be modified as operators become aware of needs that may not have been included in the original schedule.

The newly updated schedule has added more stops throughout Campbellford – including residential stops and additional loops around the town – so that users may travel within Campbellford as well as to and from.

In order to give residents an opportunity to try out the service, organizers are offering a promotion – one free return trip to anyone wishing to ride and check out the advantages of the service first-hand. You can claim your free trip by calling the scheduling office at 1-866-768-7778.

“We appreciate the support and feedback received so far for this new initiative,” regional transportation coordinator Anne Newman said in the press release.

“The municipality has been a great partner and, as we progress, you will see bus stops around town that match our schedule.”

Newman added that Community Care will continue to provide both rural and accessible services throughout the county. Rides under these options are still prebooked by calling the scheduling office the day prior to a planned trip.
