The grounds of the Cobourg Yacht Club were covered with canoes and kayaks as youth aged 15 and under competed in a multitude of racing events. Clubs attending were from Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton, Oakville and Collingwood. Nigel, 23, is a coach with the Balmy Beach Canoe Club in Toronto. He told Northumberland 89.7 that such events encourage participants aged 7 to 15 to get active in popular boating activities.
