The Correctional Service of Canada announced Saturday that the exceptional search of the institution is complete and visits to the prison are now restored. The institution has been under lockdown since Monday when an inmate was found by staff unconscious and suffering what was thought to be an overdose of fentanyl=laced heroin. The CSC refuses to disclose the nature of the inmate's situation saying it would intrude on the inmate's privacy rights. However, the CSC has stated that it is strengthening measures to prevent the entry of contraband into penitentiaries across Canada to ensure a safe and secure environment for inmates and staff alike, CSC also state it is working closely with police to take action against those who attempt to bring contraband into correctional institutions..
