Cobourg Celebrates Pride PFLAG Cobourg has joined with Cobourg Police Service in the planning of Cobourg’s first Pride weekend. Ashley Bouman who heads PFLAG Cobourg and Deputy Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf kicked off the celebration with an interview on Northumberland 89.7’s Week in Review at noon on Friday. The Deputy Police Chief praised PFLAG as an important partner in assisting homeless youth struggling with their sexual identity and credits the joint operation with resolving conflicts and helping young people avoid suicidal ideation. Due to rain, scheduled events on Second Street were diverted to the Cobourg Collegiate Institute gym starting at 4 p.m. Friday with events for children and adult events for later in the evening.
