County announces ID clinics in Brighton and Cobourg

Recognizing the barriers that a lack of valid ID can pose to accessing important programs, services and opportunities, Northumberland County announces two upcoming Identification and Wellness Clinics for those navigating the task of obtaining or replacing this doumentation – Sept. 16 in Brighton and Oct. 28 in Cobourg.

The county is partnering with local community and government agencies to provide support in obtaining identification and connecting with resources that can help them access housing, health care, employment and other essential services.

The Brighton clinic takes place Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity-St. Andrew's united Church, 56 Prince Edward St.

The Cobourg clinic takes place Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the county building in Cobourg.

Both offer community members access to a range of organizations and services.

Northumberland County Community and Social Services will offer application assistance for Ontario Works and other spports.

Northumberland Paramedics Community Paramedicine Program will offer medical referrals and program details.

Service Ontario can help with health cards, address changes and Ontario Photo Card applications.

Northumberland Help and Legal Centre can offer assistance with program information, birth certificate applications and the fee waiver program.

Fleming College Academic Upgrading offers flexible on-demand skills-training and academic-upgrading programs.

Northumberland-Peterborough South MP Philip Lawrence's constituency office will be represented to provide assistance with Federal programs, including Permanent Resident cards, passports and Federal benefit programs.

Ontario Health Team of Northumberland will offer information on connecting with local primary care (physician and nurse-practitioner) resources.

Though the clinics are open to all community members on a walk-in basis, pre-registration is encouraged to help manage attendance and wait times – visit Northumberland.ca/IDClinic.
