Traffic signals on D’Arcy Street will not be ready by Tuesday

The Town of Cobourg says new intersection signals on D’Arcy Street will not be operational in time for the start of school on Tuesday.
The new traffic signals are at the intersections of Elgin Street East and D’Arcy Street, and University Avenue East and D’Arcy Street.
The new traffic signals at the intersections will not be operational for the start of the school year as originally anticipated, due to longer-than-anticipated delivery times for required equipment.
Elgin Street East and D’Arcy Street: Installation and restoration work is underway. Remaining work will focus primarily on electrical connections, testing and final adjustments.
University Avenue East and D’Arcy Street: Installation is progressing, with additional signal equipment expected to be installed shortly. Some remaining equipment is expected to arrive in early October.
Remaining work will continue after school resumes, with traffic control measures in place to help maintain safe traffic and pedestrian movement. No lane restrictions will be permitted during the peak periods of 7–9 a.m. and 3–6 p.m.
