NHH Foundation shows donors their impact

On Wednesday evening, Sept. 23, Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation welcomed some 60 donors to the hospital for a behind-the-scenes look at five recent projects made possible through community support.
The tour focused on key projects and equipment that had been support by those donors invited in, including the new SPECT CT Nuclear Medicine Camera, the new MRI and new laboratory analyzers, as well as updates on the progress towards renovations of the Medical Device Reprocessing Department and the creation of a new operating suite.
Foundation Chief Executive Officer Rhoda Cunningham said the tour was a wonderful opportunity to see philanthropy in action instead of just talking about it.
“Our community's impact can be seen, felt and heard inside our hospital,” Cunningham said.
“I hope that when you walk into each of these spaces, you will feel a tremendous sense of pride in knowing that you helped make these improvements possible.”
After acknowledging the hospital team members who shared their expertise and enthusiasm for the work they do, as well as the dedicated hospital leadership and project managers who helped bring key investments from ideas to reality, Cunningham introduced NHH President and Chief Executive Officer Susan Walsh.
“Growth and continuous enhancement of NHH services would not be possible without the generous support of many community donors,” Walsh said.
“These growth projects undertaken at NHH in the past year are the result of the hard work of many teams at the hospital, and I congratulate them on completing these projects on time and on budget while also juggling many other competing priorities.
“NHH remains committed to our continuously improving our services and bringing patient care closer to home. We are grateful to our donors and the work of the Foundation.”
Following additional welcoming remarks by Chief of Staff Dr. Paul Ketov, Cunningham concluded with a message of gratitude.
“Thank you for believing in this hospital. Thank you for investing in our community. And thank you for helping us ensure that our health-care professionals have the equipment, technology and environment they need to provide the very best care possible.”
