County seeks input from Northumberland Forest users

Northumberland County announces an Oct. 6 community open house for Northumberland County Forest users to learn more about the Trail Network Study being undertaken to develop a clear vision and framework for the future of the trail network – and to share their thoughts.

The study will assess the existing network and identify opportunities to improve, expand and refine trails to meet the needs of residents and visitors better, as well as examining environmental considerations and forest-management priorities.

The Trail Network Study will look at the next 10 years, building on previous planning documents such as the county's 2009 Trails Network Study and the 2021-2041 Forest Management Plan.

Users and community members are invited to drop by the community open house to learn more and to share their thoughts. It runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 6 in the second-floor council chambers at the county building at 555 Courthouse Rd., Cobourg.
