Piccini announces investment in Lakeland

A $100,000 investment from the Ontario government will help Cobourg-based Lakeland Multi-trade Inc. adopt improvements to manage projects, track information and support its commercial and industrial clients.
The funding is part of the Ontario government's investment in the Digital Competence Centre to help small and medium-sized businesses adopt digital technologies, modernize operations and improve productivity.
In Lakeland's case, they are adopting a cloud-based Field Service Management and project-management platform. The result is improved accuracy, consistency and efficiency of information captured in the field during such projects as their work at the Blommer Chocolate Company in Campbellford – where Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini made the announcement.
“Lakeland Multi-trade is a great example of a local company embracing new technology to improve how they operate and serve their customers,” Piccini said.
“This $100,000 investment will help their business become more efficient, strengthen its competitiveness to continue growing right here in Northumberland.”
For Lakeland, this innovation means real-time reporting and advanced analytics to monitor project progress, resource utilization and costs that result in faster data-drive decisions and improved overall operational efficiency so that projects are on time and costs are controlled – providing greater value to clients.
Lakeland President Shane Jarvis said in the announcement that this support positions the company for continued growth and innovation.
“By embracing modern digital tools, we are improving productivity, enhancing the quality of our services and building a stronger foundation for future success. We are grateful for the Ontario government's commitment to helping Ontario businesses adopt advanced technologies that increase competitiveness, drive innovation and contribute to the province's long-term economic prosperity,” Jarvis added.
