A Cobourg woman is facing impaired driving charges after provincial police claim her blood alcohol was nearly three times the legal limit.

On August 5, just after 12 p.m. on County Road 45, officers responded to an unoccupied vehicle, allegedly linked to a complaint of a driver unable to maintain their lane.

The woman was located at a nearby business with two children. She was taken to the local detachment where breath samples registered approximately three times the limit.

The children were placed in the care of a family member. The accused will appear in court next month. Her identity is being withheld to protect the children.
